It's just so great to see how we came to be.
I often sit here, pondering
How A led to B led to C led to D led to E....
Through to you + me.
So my mind goes wandering
To the days when you were just a friend,
And a moment without you wasn't the end.
But as I write, searching
Through poem comments and my inbox,
I smile...
Suddenly it doesn't matter...
U and I aren't simple variables,
And no rule of mathematics can make them work,
But nothing on earth can make them not.
